Huge game by Plsek boosts Jersey Shore over Lockport, 9-2

Dylan Plsek had one goal and two assists to lead Jersey Shore to a 9-2 victory over Lockport.

Plsek scored 16:36 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Jersey Shore. Jared Karas assisted on the tally. Plsek dished an assist on Bogdan Khvatov\’s goal that made the score 5-2 Jersey Shore at 6:27 into the third period. He added another helper on Karas\’ goal that made the score 9-2 Jersey Shore at 14:53 into the third period.

Lockport\’s power play was ineffective against Jersey Shore\’s penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Jersey Shore racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 13 minors and one major for 51 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 29.0 minutes per game Jersey Shore had been spending in the box. Jersey Shore forced Lockport\’s goalies to work without much rest, totaling 55 shots and forcing 46 saves. Tim Schiess made 36 stops and Sal Stalteri made 10. Jersey Shore stifled Lockport\’s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Jersey Shore got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Jersey Shore additionally got points from Karas, who also registered one goal and two assists, Travis Valvo, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Frederic Ampleman, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Freddie Schaljo, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Jersey Shore included Alexander Tan and Marcus McCall, who scored one goal each. In addition, Jersey Shore received assists from Scott Hansen, who had four and Christian Cooley, JaColbie McGowan, and Tyler Goclan, who contributed one each.

Lockport excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. Lockport did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. Lockport averages 4.8 goals per game.

Lockport was helped by Nicholas Wilcox, who finished with one goal. Wilcox scored 16:58 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Jersey Shore. Frank II Vecchio picked up the assist. Lockport also got a goal from Kurt Villani as well. More assists for Lockport came via Anthony Tomassi, Ryan Logar, and Dylan Jenkins, who each chipped in one.

Scott Albertoni rejected 27 shots on goal for Jersey Shore. Jersey Shore ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Goclan was ejected from the game. Lockport incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
