Justin Blake lifted Lockport to a 16-2 victory with a hat trick against East Coast.
Blake\’s first goal came 8:48 into the first period. He then added goals at 18:26 into the second and at 14:16 into the third.
Lockport\’s penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three East Coast power plays. East Coast was unable to stop Lockport from sending pucks towards the net, and Lockport eventually piled up 93 shots on goal. Lockport surpassed its usual scoring output this season. Lockport has scored at the pace of 5.0 goals per game during the current campaign. The defensemen of Lockport were also effective in East Coast\’s zone, and came away with two goals.
Lockport also got points from Dillon Hayes, who also finished with one goal and three assists, Jacob Burford, who also registered two goals and one assist, Daniel Golba, who also had one goal and three assists, Anthony Merante, who also grabbed two goals and two assists, Frank II Vecchio, who also tallied two goals and one assist, Mark Friol, who also registered two goals and one assist, and Ryan Logar, who also had one goal and four assists. Christopher Gasiewicz also scored for Lockport. In addition, Lockport received assists from Michael Crissy, who had two, Christian Whitcomb, who had three, Justin Durkee, who had four, and Alex Bottenfield, Peter Guido, Cole Brooks, Jeff Avolio, and Austin Kasperek, who each chipped in one.
East Coast stifled Lockport\’s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Team\’s forwards weren\’t the only contributers offensively, and the team\’s defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.
East Coast was led by Samu Landen, who finished with two goals. Landen scored the first of his two goals at 2:22 into the second period to make the score 5-1 Lockport. Landen\’s next tally made the score 7-2 Lockport with 9:06 left in the second period. Bryan Sieber assisted on the tally.
Giancarlo Muglia took the win and made six saves before being replaced by Ryan Kostelnik who made seven saves. Lockport incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Jack Stafford made 77 saves for East Coast on 93 shots. East Coast incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
