The Niagara Falls PowerHawks' offense had a big night, peppering the Oswego Stampede with 52 shots throughout the game. The Niagara Falls PowerHawks took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Stephen Minichiello.
Stephen Minichiello contributed with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Gage Mueller delivered for his team with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).
During the first period, Schweickert opened the scoring for the PowerHawks with a goal at 13:25 with a helper from his teammate Bodami. Snyder put in a goal at 17:07 with helpers from his linemates, Logar and Mueller.
In the second, Hart finally put Oswego on the board with a goal at 5:43. Minichiello answered for Niagara Falls with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 13:09 with an assist from his linemate Minichello. Mueller deposited a goal at 15:38 with helpers from his linemates, Minichiello and Logar.
In the third period, Simmonds answered for the Stampede with a goal at 12:27 with assists from Wallace and Berry.
The PowerHawks’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Augustine’s big night as he stopped 29 of the 31 shots he faced. Augustine’s counterpart, Kozikoski, also had a big night, managing to stop 48 of 52, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Niagara Falls PowerHawks’ record to (15-13-1-1).
