The PowerHawks defeat the Stampede 4-2

The Niagara Falls PowerHawks' offense had a big night, peppering the Oswego Stampede with 43 shots throughout the game. The Niagara Falls PowerHawks took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Branden Tripi.

Michael Olszewski did his part, adding 2 goals and Frankie Bodami contributed with 3 assists. Jameson Simmonds delivered for his team with 2 goals.

In the first period, Olszewski opened the scoring for the PowerHawks with a goal at 4:42 with helpers from his linemates, Bodami and Minichiello. Olszewski netted a goal at 15:10 with assists from teammates French and Bodami.

In the second, Tripi deposited what turned out to be the game winning goal at 8:18 with helpers from Schweickert and Bodami. Simmonds quickly followed with a goal at 9:02 with assists from Berry and Hart. Domiano answered for Niagara Falls with a goal at 18:08 with a helper from defenseman Thornton.

During the third, Simmonds answered for Oswego with a goal at 14:45 with assists from Zarragoitia and Wallace.

The PowerHawks’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Augustine’s big night as he stopped 30 of the 32 shots he faced. Augustine’s counterpart, Kozikoski, also had a big night, managing to stop 39 of 43, but ultimately fell short.
