Logar’s big game bests Syracuse in 5-1 Lockport win

Lockport\’s Ryan Logar had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in his team\’s 5-1 win over Syracuse.

Logar\’s tallies came at 13:26 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lockport and 1:32 into the second to make the score 2-0 Lockport.

Lockport excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Syracuse was unable to stop Lockport from sending pucks towards the net, and Lockport eventually piled up 46 shots on goal. Lockport could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

Lockport also got points from Mark Friol, who also had one goal and one assist and Christopher Gasiewicz, who also registered one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Brendan McFall also scored for Lockport. Other players who recorded assists for Lockport were Justin Durkee and Frank II Vecchio, who contributed one each.

Syracuse was led by Nate Walker, who scored the team\’s only goal. Walker scored 6:59 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Lockport. Nicholas Sanborn provided the assist.

Lockport\’s Tim Schiess stopped 22 shots out of the 23 that he faced. Lockport registered two goals on four power play opportunities. Kyle VanWagner rejected 41 shots on goal for Syracuse. Syracuse incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. (716) 863-1459
