The Niagara Falls PowerHawks' offense had a big night, peppering the Skylands Kings with 40 shots throughout the game. The Niagara Falls PowerHawks took the lead before the halfway point in the third on a goal from Spencer Hrynczak.
Brandon Schweickert did his part, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Spencer Hrynczak contributed with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist). Eric Vanderhoff chipped in with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Craig Garrigan delivered for his team with 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists).
During the first, Schweickert opened the scoring for the PowerHawks with a goal at 6:00 with helpers from Tripi and Domiano.
In the second, Olszewski deposited a goal at 7:22. Villani put in a goal at 11:29 with helpers from his teammates Hrynczak and French. Vanderhoff finally put the Kings on the board with a goal at 15:23 with an assist from Garrigan. Landry quickly followed with a goal at 16:33 with assists from his linemates, Finkel and Sizov. Garrigan scored a goal at 18:46 with a helper from Ford.
During the third period, Mueller answered for the PowerHawks with a goal at 1:56. Hrynczak deposited what turned out to be the game winning goal at 7:38 with helpers from Villani and Schweickert. Finkel answered for Skylands with a goal at 19:21 with assists from his linemates, Garrigan and Vanderhoff.
Niagara Falls’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Mitchell’s big night as he stopped 25 of the 29 shots he faced. Mitchell’s counterpart, Yttereng, also had a big night, managing to stop 35 of 40, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Niagara Falls PowerHawks’ record to (23-18-1-2).
