Frank II Vecchio netted a hat trick to lead Lockport Express over Maine Wild, 7-2.
Vecchio\’s first goal came 10:08 into the second period. He then added goals at 14:34 into the second and at 11:30 into the third.
Maine Wild\’s power play was ineffective against Lockport Express\’ penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.
Lockport Express forced Maine Wild\’s netminders to work without much rest, taking 38 shots and forcing 31 saves. Lucas Osborne made 21 stops and Jon Fields made 10. Lockport Express\’ penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Maine Wild power plays. Lockport Express got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.
